Metering and calibration

How is effective FLOP measured and calibrated?

Source and guide ↗
flop metering --help

Convert reference work. Follow a declared lease. See where public calibration evidence ends.

The current paper uses renewable caps. The explorer's phase field does not include the blocks needed to verify a live lease.

01 / Declare reference work

One floor. Exact units.

Add non-overlapping reference-work components from your chosen meter profile. These inputs are a declared workload, not a token-count measurement.

For example: independently accounted prompt, generation and attention terms. Do not count a term twice.

Declared accounting result / G_n

1

floor((A + B + C) / 1,000,000,000)

1200000000 declared F_eff. 200000000 below the whole-unit boundary.

Reward decay scenario

Settled G_n stays unchanged. The quoted absent-key default has no decay.

Reward-weighted G_n1

Exponent 0. Floored once after exponentiation.

flop metering work --components 600000000,600000000,0 --bits 128 --factor-ppb 1000000000 --blocks 0

02 / Place a declared lease on the chain

The expiry block is a hard boundary.

Enter the latest successful acceptance or renewal block. These are scenario inputs. The recorded explorer does not supply this anchor for a miner.

Quoted lease: 604800 blocks. Reminder: one day remains at the paper's block timebase.

Time eligibility assumes an accepted cap and unchanged host. Restart or reconnect requires renewal. Inventory or fingerprint changes require a new burst.

Declared lifecycle state

Expired: renewal grace

Outside the serving window. Renewal grace does not permit serving.

Elapsed blocks from acceptance to the pruning boundary.

03 / Inspect the public boundary

A lifecycle with missing anchors.

Choose a recorded miner. Its timeline distinguishes returned fields from events the public response does not expose.

Separately recorded indexer head: 3007426. This is not a same-head storage comparison.

04 / Follow the pinned model

A burst, a lease, fresh work.

The line tracks reading progress. It does not track a miner's verification.

Earn the initial cap

At least 64 independently verified jobs over 600 blocks. Work must cover floor(C_emp × blocks × 500000 / 1000000). Credentials and stake remain separate gates.

Apply the tier ceiling

SOFT uses the empirical host cap. HARD takes the smaller of that cap and the attested inventory ceiling multiplied by 900000 ppm, floored. Never multiply the host cap by GPU count again.

Freeze it for the lease

An accepted cap remains frozen for 604800 blocks. At exact expiry all serving consumers fail closed. The fixed three-phase Dyno has been removed from the current paper.

Renew without increasing capacity

Renewal needs 8 fresh one-shot jobs, a trigger no older than 600 blocks and enough verified work. Neither empirical nor effective cap may increase. HARD ceilings can tighten it.

Revalidate after changes

Restart or chain reconnect requires renewal. Inventory or fingerprint changes invalidate the cap and require a new burst. Statistical drift detection remains open specification work.

Read the rules behind the model.

These are pinned specification defaults. They are not deployed storage reads. Dash typography in quotations is normalized.

What this does not verify

Execution metering, physical operations, inference correctness, credentials, inventory, stake and runtime storage are not verified. Calculator inputs are declared scenarios. Recorded public fields do not prove finality or serving authorization.

Reward decay defaults are quoted. Renewal work conservatively uses the currently accepted cap. Tightening operation order remains unspecified in the public text. Drift statistics and latency reward adjustments remain open work.
